Current Band/Album Project

In 2022 guitarist Mark Fitchett and vocalist Michelle McBride joined forces to create Michelle and Fitch songwriting partnership and live performance band.

At the core of their sound are unique interpretations of classic covers as well as original compositions. Whether they're reinventing timeless favorites or unveiling their own creations, with each performance this ensemble of seasoned musicians pays homage to the traditions of blues, rock and R&B while carving out their own distinctive sound.

The band is currently in the studio working on their upcoming release of original funky blues rock tentatively titled “Here and Now Blues.”

Mark’s love for the blues started as a child being mesmerized by his grandfather’s boogie woogie piano playing

He spent hours listening to Grandpa’s record collection that included early Elvis, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry as well as many other now classic blues, boogie, ragtime, rock and country records.

Singing is something Michelle has always loved all her life but she started her career in the entertainment industry as an actress notably as of the the lead characters in the first now cult classic Subspecies.

After a movie audition that had required her to sing (and being called back for 5 screen tests) she realized singing was something she was good at and needed to pursue on a professional level.

Michelle’s expressive vocals draw from blues, R&B, and soul, while Mark’s accomplished guitar work and production reflect a deep respect for the blues infused with rock, jazz, and roots influences. Their debut album, Here and Now Blues, blends heartfelt storytelling, soulful grooves, and just the right touch of humor and playfulness.

From the heartfelt emotion of How Long and Wandering Man Blues to the guitar-driven swagger of Stripped Down, The Michelle & Fitch Band explores a wide spectrum of blues-inspired music. They blend humor and heart with the funky groove of Preheat the Oven, the slow burn of Slow Dance, and every couple’s tug-of-war in the rocking See Things My Way. Upbeat and country-tinged, Ooo Eee Baby plays with impatience and desire, while the swinging shuffle of Keep Walking and the driving Here and Now Blues reflect resilience and the strength to move forward. The longing in Is There a Man and the mischievous charm of bluesy Bad Girl add to an album that showcases Mark and Michelle’s wit, heart, and musical chemistry throughout.
